75978 Diagon Alley has sold out for good in the US, and other retiring LEGO Harry Potter sets could be close behind as Wizarding World fans take advantage of this year’s Back to Hogwarts event.
It’s the best time of the year to shop for LEGO Harry Potter sets, with three different gifts-with-purchase up for grabs and discounts on several retiring sets exclusively for LEGO Insiders. That’s unsurprisingly led to an influx of Wizarding World orders at LEGO.com – and 75978 Diagon Alley selling out permanently in the US. It’s the first of the five discounted sets to move to ‘Sold out’ status, with three of the remaining four on back order.

They’re all on back order too in the UK, but are clearly selling fast, so any or all of them could theoretically disappear for good at any moment – especially those that don’t have a firm shipping date. 76428 Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit and 76440 Triwizard Tournament: The Arrival will both ship by September 9 in the UK, but the rest just say ‘will ship in 60 days’.
Once the current supply of these retiring sets dries up, they won’t be available to purchase through retail channels again. That means this could be your last chance to buy 75978 Diagon Alley without resorting to the aftermarket – and with a 20% discount for LEGO Insiders and two GWPs on the table, it’s also the best time to buy. Check out the current crop of LEGO Harry Potter free gifts in the table below.
