A new LEGO Certified Store is opening just outside of Porto, Portugal, with a LEGO designer returning to his hometown for its first day of welcoming shoppers.
Portugal will get its second official LEGO Store, with a new retail location opening in Norteshopping, Matosinhos, just outside of Porto. To celebrate the opening, LEGO Senior Designer Marcos Bessa has announced on his Instagram Stories that he will be at the store opening on Saturday, October 28. This will be the first time that the LEGO Store opens its doors, so we can likely expect the same unique brick giveaways and other activities that you find at brand-new stores on their first day.
It's unclear if Marcos will be speaking or taking part in anything in particular. However, having worked on a few LEGO Disney sets from this year, including 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons and 43227 Villain Icons, the fact that he posted a photo with the latter, along with a gif of Anna from Frozen, if he does do anything special, it's likely to be related to LEGO Disney.
As well as LEGO Disney, Marcos has also worked on LEGO Harry Potter, most recently being part of the team behind 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition and 75978 Diagon Alley.
