LEGO just extended the shelf life of three sets to 2030

The LEGO Group’s latest changes to the pack of retiring sets have seen three sets’ shelf lives extended all the way to 2030.

It feels a bit wrong to be typing ‘2030’ already. Who knows what the world will look like then? At the rate global events are unfolding at the moment, the geopolitical landscape could have shifted by more than just degrees. But one thing’s for sure (at least right now): three sets that are currently on LEGO Store shelves in 2026 will still be available to add to your collection.

Those are 11203 Bluey’s Family House, 11206 Spidey on his Motorcycle vs. Rhino and 42696 Animal Vet Clinic, hailing from the Bluey, Marvel and Friends themes respectively. The common thread between these seemingly disparate sets is that they’re all targeted at the 4+ age range, despite covering a wide range of sizes and price points.

11203 Bluey’s Family House£59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99382Jun 1, 2025Dec 31, 2030
11206 Spidey on his Motorcycle vs. Rhino£8.99 / $9.99 / €9.9961Jan 1, 2026Dec 31, 2030
42696 Animal Vet Clinic£24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99141Jan 1, 2026Dec 31, 2030

They were all previously scheduled to retire by the end of December 2027, but – pending any further changes – will now stay in production through the end of 2030. That’s an unprecedented boost to their lifespans within the context of the rest of the current LEGO portfolio: aside from Education, DUPLO and Powered Up components, the furthest retirement date for any other set is December 31, 2028.

It signals a real confidence in these particular sets from the LEGO Group, suggesting they’re selling well enough to essentially become the sort of evergreen product we’ve seen from themes like Star Wars (with 75192 Millennium Falcon), Icons (with 10294 Titanic) and Harry Potter (with 71043 Hogwarts Castle). The difference is that these are targeted towards much younger fans.

They’re also sets that would typically be ripe for small revisions and remakes within even a tighter release window. It wouldn’t have been inconceivable to see the LEGO Group revisit Bluey’s house by 2030, while vet clinics are a dime a dozen in LEGO Friends, so it’s unusual to see this particular iteration hanging around for so long.

Of course, there’s every chance that the LEGO Group could revisit the retiring dates for these three sets and pull them forward again. But at least at the time of writing, they’re the three regular LEGO retail sets with the longest shelf lives, which is pretty interesting in and of itself. Check out our retiring LEGO sets page for a full breakdown of when every current set is due to retire, and look out for the next update early next week for March 2026.
