LEGO deals of the week: more retiring set savings

This week's array of LEGO deals includes nearly 40% off a The Lord of the Rings model, recent release offers and more retiring set savings.

With the official online store's retiring LEGO set sale coming to a close, stock has been running low on some sets. Very is a good backup source of similar savings, including on LEGO models due to retire at the end of the year, but not yet discounted officially.

41838 Travel Moments is on back order on the official online store at the time of writing, and should the set run out at 40% off on LEGO.com, Very has a decent £28 discount on the build. It's the only set of its kind to represent LEGO MASTERS.

31153 Modern House is also £20 off at Very, and we recently discovered that it's a retiring LEGO set not to miss out on. While you're on the retailer checking out these first two deals, don't miss the £45 saving on 21062 Trevi Fountain, which is the lowest price for the stunning Architecture set currently.

Very has some other great savings on sets that will be sticking around into next year, including the lowest price so far on the new 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp, knocking nearly 33% off the £119.99 price tag. You can also score a staggering £38 off 10302 Optimus Prime to pair with the other LEGO Transformers figure sets.

Also beating the discounts at Amazon UK is Zavvi's £30 saving on 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine – a set that isn't often on sale. The popular retailer still has some great offers to keep your eye on this week, though.

Following the latest huge sale event at Amazon worldwide, Amazon UK is continuing a selection of savings on some of this year's most tempting builds. There's a £15 discount on 76321 Spider-Man vs. Doc Ock Subway Train Scene with some exclusive minifigures, as well as a 28% price reduction on 75432 V-19 Torrent Starfighter with its own exclusive minifigures.

Perhaps the best discount on Amazon UK this week is the massive price slash on 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook. It may appear to be only 27% saving, but there's a voucher you can apply by clicking the check box to bring the price down all the way to £66 instead of £109.99. At that price, this is a hard set to miss out on.
