Want LEGO’s new Classic Space pieces? That’ll be a third of the price of the set, please

41843 Family Christmas Tree introduces a new flavour of LEGO Classic Space helmet and air tanks, but if you want to buy them separately you’re looking at roughly a third of the cost of the overall set.

The LEGO Group is continuing to dripfeed new colours of Classic Space astronauts with this year’s headline festive release 41843 Family Christmas Tree, which equips one of its minifigure elves with a bright green helmet and oxygen tanks. We’ve seen those pieces in regular green before, but this is the first time they’ve popped up in bright green – and BrickLink sellers are already taking advantage of their rarity.

Three samples of each new piece have sold on the secondary marketplace in October so far, with prices ranging from £44.61 to £52.05 per individual element. The lowest-priced air tanks currently available cost £49.96 (or $67), while the cheapest helmet comes in at £44.73 (or $59.99), both from the same US seller. Only three BrickLink stores have the pieces up for sale at the time of writing.

Given 41843 Family Christmas Tree retails for £269.99 / $329.99 / €299.99, you’re effectively looking at spending just over a third of the price of the full 3,171-piece set for just those two elements. No matter how desperate you are to complete your Classic Space collection, that does not feel like a financially savvy move – not least because the corresponding torso doesn’t yet exist in bright green.

Chances are pretty good too that these pieces will eventually end up on Pick a Brick, just as the dark blue versions released in a summer 2025 DREAMZzz set did earlier this month. The oxygen tanks sold out pretty much instantly, but they’ll doubtless be back in stock at some point, while the helmet is still available at the time of writing for a mere 28p. That’s a fair bit cheaper than the bright green version on BrickLink.

If you don’t fancy shelling out for 41843 Family Christmas Tree this holiday season, your best course of action is playing the waiting game for the bright green Classic Space elements to become more readily accessible. And if they never do… well, then you can think about dropping unfathomable sums for them on the aftermarket. But if you dive in now and see them available for pennies in 2026, you’ll never live it down.

For a cheaper Classic Space fix in the meantime, set your sights on 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine, which includes brand new teal and pearl gold astronauts. Those are available for roughly a tenner apiece on BrickLink, too.
