The LEGO Group is going all-in on new flavours of Classic Space astronaut in 2025, with pieces for yet another new variety debuting in an upcoming Christmas set.
The roster of Classic Space astronauts is growing thick and fast this year: first teal and pearl gold arrived in 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine, then a light blue torso and air tanks popped up between the Build-a-Minifigure tower and 21359 Italian Riviera, and finally the dark blue helmet and air tanks found their way into a
It turns out ‘finally’ is no longer applicable in that sentence, however, as the newly-revealed 41843 Family Christmas Tree is about to introduce yet another new colourway for Classic Space astronauts. Included in the 3,171-piece set are five elves, one of whom is decked out in a Classic Space-themed Christmas jumper, along with a bright green Classic Space helmet and air tanks.
That’s a slightly different shade of green to the one that debuted in 2014’s 21109 Exo Suit (and was later completed with the correct helmet in 80054 Megapolis City 5th Anniversary). There’s no corresponding torso just yet, but the legs are widely available and cheap to come by on the aftermarket, so when the time comes this version hopefully shouldn’t be too tricky to piece together – at least compared to the purple astronaut.
Of course, that assumes you’re either happy to splash the cash on 41843 Family Christmas Tree, which will retail for £269.99 / $329.99 / €299.99, or the new helmet and air tanks eventually arrive on Pick a Brick. Whether that will happen or not is anyone’s guess at this point, but the assortment of new pieces for October should at least give us some idea, as that’s when we’d expect the teal and pearl gold pieces to pop up from 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine.
If they do, then happy days – the bright green elements will hopefully follow in early 2026. But given that would potentially cut into sales of 21358 Minifigure Vending Machine and subsequently 41843 Family Christmas Tree, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the LEGO Group keeping these pieces locked to these sets…
