The LEGO Group's CEO, Niels B Christiansen, has been named Leader of the Year in 2025 by Denmark, the home of LEGO.
Christiansen was named Denmark's Leader of the Year 2025 in an awards ceremony in Copenhagen on November 21. This marks the 24th time the country has handed out the award, its highest honour for leadership.
“Awards are often given to people at the helm, but I view this award as a recognition of the achievements and dedication of all our 31,000 fantastic LEGO colleagues," said Christiansen.
The jury complimented the CEO for his ability to set clear direction and mobilise the organisation to achieve record growth in an environment where employees can thrive. Indeed, last year the LEGO Group posted record profits after another year of growth, at a time when many toy companies are stagnating. Throughout Christiansen’s time in the role, the LEGO Group’s turnover has more than doubled.
The award jury described Christiansen as "an analytically sharp leader who sets clear direction and executes quickly and precisely."
"He is also a pleasant and decent person who never lets his ego get in the way of a compelling argument or the right solution," they concluded.
