LEGO Bluey theme may be sticking around for some time to come

With the first animated Bluey movie on the way in 2027, the recently announced LEGO theme just might be sticking around for a while.

A LEGO Bluey theme was officially announced this week, with the first wave of six sets due to arrive this year. With a dedicated landing page having now launched, fans can count down to a ‘build mode’ being revealed on June 1 at 11am in the UK and rumours of three LEGO models, two DUPLO sets and a polybag all said to be on the way.

In addition, an FAQ on the page also hints at potential future LEGO Bluey releases, although nothing is set in stone at this point. However, a major Bluey launch is on the cards for 2027, possibly suggesting the latest LEGO theme might be sticking around for a while to come.

BBC Studios and Disney recently announced that the first-ever Bluey animated feature film will be arriving sometime in that year, although a specific release date has yet to be revealed. What we do know is that the CG Bluey The Movie will be written and directed by creator Joe Brumm and produced by Amber Naismith, with the latter also a producer on The LEGO Movie and The LEGO Batman Movie.

With the LEGO Group and BBC Studios seemingly open to more from their new partnership, it’s possible that the six models being released this year from the LEGO Bluey theme may not be one-offs and sets based around the upcoming film may potentially see the light of day at some point.

The Bluey show originally premiered in Australia in 2018, but has since gone on to become a global phenomenon, being the most-viewed series on streaming services in the US last year with over 35 billion minutes watched.
