LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight’s retro outfits are here to make you feel old

TT Games has unveiled two new retro outfits coming to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, inspired by 2008’s LEGO Batman: The Videogame.

That these outfits (which first debuted in physical form in the original 2006 LEGO Batman sets) can now be considered retro is enough to make us turn to dust, but it’s still fun to see TT Games paying homage to its own Bat-history by including them as unlockable suits in the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. The costumes were unveiled as part of a new Developer Diary at the Future Games Show.

“It’s a great way for us to look at the legacy that we have with LEGO Batman and that character here at TT, and celebrate that in this game as well,” said TT Games Executive Producer Matt Ellison. These outfits join a growing roster of alternate costumes for the game’s seven playable characters, which will apparently include more than 100 different looks when all’s said and done.

If you want to unlock absolutely everything possible in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, you’re going to need to pick up the four LEGO DC sets that arrived on shelves this month, as each one includes a unique code that can be redeemed in-game. These will grant access to gold versions of three different Batmobiles, along with a golden Batsuit. Head here to find out how to claim yours.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 29, 2026. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will be released at a later date.
