LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will include Absolute versions of its playable cast, which has received a big thumbs-up from their comic book creators.
We got a fresh look at the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video game today thanks to a new developer diary video. The latest info update from TT Games was packed with impressive reveals, including the addition of a Batsuit inspired by the smash-hit Absolute Batman series.
What's more, another new LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video has dropped that features footage of the bulked-up character in action, scaring Gotham City’s cowardly criminals and teaming up with Absolute Catwoman to take out the bad guys, which has even managed to impress the comic book’s original creators.
“As a longtime, diehard fan of the LEGO video games," said Snyder to The Hollywood Reporter, "I’m so thrilled and honoured to see Absolute Batman and Absolute Catwoman included in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (alongside so many other amazing iterations)! I can’t wait for fans to see Absolute Bruce brought to life as only LEGO games can!”
Absolute Batman launched in 2024 as part of a new line that was separate from the main DC Universe, although the characters have already crossed over and met up. Writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Dragotta were responsible for the hulking shape of Bruce Wayne’s revamped alter ego, along with distinctively different versions of his familiar rogue’s gallery.
“He’s got the spikes, he’s so tough – look at his face,” Snyder commented on the latest LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight video. “The great thing about Batman is, it’s not just a character, it’s an entire universe. It’s a whole mythology. I’ve played many LEGO video games and to see our stuff in there just means the world.”
“So cool to see Absolute Batman and Absolute Catwoman be a part of the new LEGO Batman video game and join the legacy,” Nick added. “Now we know where this bat brickhouse gets his bricks!”

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 22 and can be wishlisted on Switch 2 for release later in 2026. In addition, early adopters of the Deluxe Edition will also be able to access the game a full 72 hours earlier on May 19.
