LEGO Batman video game trailer reveals new ‘Heroes & Villains’

The ‘Heroes & Villains’ trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has given us a first look at a number of new faces due to appear in the game.

A release date for the highly-anticipated LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was revealed this week, along with a new trailer for the upcoming game. The TT Games title will be dropping on May 29, 2026, bringing with it an impressive line-up of heroic and villainous characters, across both Standard and Deluxe editions.

The ‘Heroes & Villains’ trailer featured more footage of the game, showcasing new Gotham City locations and fresh looks at the Caped Crusader and his allies in action. We already knew about multiple versions of Commissioner Gordon in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, but now we know what to expect from the rest of the Bat-family.

That includes young Dick Grayson in his Haly’s Circus outfit (complete with twin batons), Robin as he appeared in 1997’s Batman and Robin movie, the grown-up version of the character in both his original and modern Nightwing costumes, plus a classic take on Barbara Gordon’s Batgirl and her Batman: The Animated Series look.

The LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition’s DLC also bolsters that line-up with a variant of Bruce Wayne’s alter ego from Rocksteady Studio’s Arkham Asylum games in the Arkham Trilogy Pack, Glam Rock Batman from Series 71017 and a rockin’ new Batgirl costume in the Party Music Pack, plus Terry McGinnis’ Batman and his younger brother Matt McGinnis’ Robin in the Batman Beyond Pack

Not to be outdone, the latest LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight trailer also presented first looks at a number of new villains. Spotted in the footage are Jack Nicholson’s Joker from Batman ’89, The Penguin in his mayoral outfit as seen in Batman Returns, the comic book version of Ra’s al Ghul, Two-Face, Firefly, Mr. Freeze and an alternate Bane, complete with venom tubes attached to his back.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Deluxe Edition’s DLC also comes with the Arkham Trilogy Pack’s Catwoman, as well as The Joker in an orange prison outfit and a classic version of Harley Quinn in the Mayhem Collection, representing the only way to play as the latter two villains in the game.

You’ll be able to check out all of the above characters and more when LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight releases on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on May 29, 2026.
