LEGO Batman game makes fun of GTA delay with latest poster

One of the most anticipated games of 2026 has been delayed, and the team behind LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight have a fun response.

Following the announcement that Grand Theft Auto VI would be delayed from May 26, 2026, to November 19, 2026, studios in the games industry hoping to release their upcoming games in the first half of the year have no doubt been relieved to know that they'll face significantly less competition.

While we don't know precisely when TT Games' next project, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, will be released, the chances are that it will be within the first half of 2026, coinciding with the release of new LEGO DC sets that include codes to unlock in-game content.

Whatever the release date may be, the social media team behind LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight has poked fun at the GTA VI delay with a new post and poster, referencing the box art of the GTA series. While it teases that Batman may have to delay his trip to Miami, this is likely only in reference to the GTA VI delay (a game which takes place in a Miami-inspired world) and is probably not implying that the LEGO game will see any delays.

We'll let you know if the team announces otherwise, but given the multiple playable demos that have been circulating at events, all signs point to a release sooner rather than later next year. At least you won't need to budget for both LEGO Batman and GTA VI earlier in the year now.

It's not the first time that a LEGO game or game project has parodied the GTA series in some way, following another deliberate GTA VI tease by LEGO Fortnite this time last year.
