LEGO Architecture 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle officially revealed

LEGO Architecture 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle has been officially revealed in all its turreted, 3,455-piece glory.

Plucked from the Alpine slopes in Bavaria, LEGO Architecture has turned its attention to 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle, bringing the turrets, courtyards, and gabled roofs to brick-built life. Due for release on August 1, the 3,455-piece set will retail for £239.99 in the UK, $279.99 in the US, and from €269.99 in Europe.

In true Architecture style, the castle has been rendered as if viewed from afar, although still with plenty of detail on the exterior spires, turrets, courtyard, staircases and gabled roofs. The foliage of the surrounding trees can be changed to depict a summer or autumn landscape, depending on the colours of the leaves.

21063 Neuschwanstein Castle also picks out some neat interior details, with nods to the history of the storied castle in tiny brick-built swans and a ballroom in keeping with the culture and style that was celebrated in the castle throughout the years.

In real life, Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century historicist palace on a rugged hill of the foothills of the Alps in the very south of Germany, built to be a remote place of pleasure and culture for King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the late 1800s.

LEGO Architecture 21063 Neuschwanstein Castle will be available to buy from August 1, retailing for £239.99 in the UK, $279.99 in the US, and from €269.99 in Europe.
