LEGO Marvel 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom offers something new but misses a clear opportunity to bring us a long overdue version of the wall-crawler.
After four previous LEGO Spider-Man mechs, it's refreshing to see 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom bring something new to the table, building on the popularity of a certain Spider-Man game franchise outside of Comic-Con exclusives at long last. That said, it's a shame that this set doesn't take that inspiration to the next level, at least more directly.

Marvel's Spider-Man too
76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom follows the usual formula for Marvel and other character-based mechs and Spider-Man has had more than most other heroes. That presents the designers behind 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom with the challenge of offering something different enough for longtime enthusiasts to pick up while keeping the mech familiar to appeal to new fans.
The set tackles this by mostly sticking to the basics aside from one aspect of its colour scheme. The mech itself has nothing unique in terms of play features with moving limbs and the ability to attach a web accessory, but what it does offer is a dash of white in the colour scheme that is almost certainly calling back to Spider-Man's outfit from the three PlayStation video games. It's good to see the games being referenced, but there's room for much more than this homage.
Does whatever a Spider-Mech does
The mech in 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom poses about as well as you'd expect for a Marvel mech. It sticks to the reliable formula of these models and aside from the PlayStation colour scheme, there's not much to mention.
What is noteworthy though is the foresight from the designers to let you attach every accessory for Spider-Man to the mech when not in use. It's a great feature that you'll appreciate long after building the set and will prevent you from having to track down a few loose elements that are part of the model later on.
Wherefore art thou, Spider-Man?
As is occasionally the case with the LEGO Marvel mechs and is certainly the case with the 2025 selection, the highlight of 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom is undoubtedly the minifigures. This set has the unique pairing of the standard Spider-Man and the exclusive Anti-Venom. The latter is the star of the show and (without getting into spoilers) continues the PlayStation reference with a passable level of detail (printed arms or legs would have been welcome) in a character that has finally reached LEGO Marvel.
Anti-Venom is an exciting inclusion in 76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom but the PlayStation Easter egg would have been more effectively represented with an exclusive PlayStation Spider-Man minifigure, modifying the design from the Comic-Con exclusive. Unfortunately, it's a missed opportunity but at least there's Anti-Venom to enjoy instead in this 2025 set and for £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99, there's enough here to enjoy.
Our honest opinion:76308 Spider-Man Mech vs. Anti-Venom is a Marvel mech that had the chance to be much more for PlayStation and Marvel fans, but it's still a worthy addition to your collection in 2025.
