LEGO 71050 Sony’s Spider-Verse Collectible Minifigures rumoured for 2025

Next year’s third (and likely final) LEGO Collectible Minifigures series is now rumoured to be based on Sony’s Spider-Verse movies.

Instagram user a.clay.brick reports that 71050 Sony’s Spider-Verse will debut on September 1, 2025, filling the slot occupied this year by 71047 Dungeons & Dragons. This would follow the rumoured 71048 Series 27 and 71049 Formula 1 Collectible Minifigures series, filling out the complete picture for the theme in 2025 before the year’s even started.

Given how far out we are from this series actually hitting shelves, it’s worth taking this rumour with an especially hefty pinch of salt. (Maybe upgrade it from a pinch to a clump, or a handful, or a silo?) Still, it does seem exactly like something the LEGO Group would do: we’ve seen plenty of Collectible Minifigures series anchored to superhero characters before, both Marvel and DC.

The question now is whether this series would be hooked specifically to the two animated Spider-Verse movies – Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse – or the wider catalogue of Sony Spider-Man spin-offs, which also includes the likes of Venom, Madame Webb, Morbius and Kraven the Hunter. But the smart money is on the animated Spider-Man movies for a couple of reasons.

First, the reception to those films is leaps and bounds ahead of the live-action Sony superhero flicks, and the LEGO Group generally leans into what’s most popular. (Of course: that’s what’s going to sell.) And second, there are more than enough Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse characters with which to fill out a 12-strong series of Collectible Minifigures…
