LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller is now available online and in-store with qualifying purchases.
You’ll need to spend at least £115 in the UK, $130 in the US and from €130 in Europe to qualify for this latest retro gift-with-purchase, which recreates a classic SEGA Genesis (or Mega Drive, depending on where in the world you are) controller using 260 pieces. There are no theme restrictions for this one, either: any sets from any theme will help you reach the threshold.
The model includes stickers to personalise the controller for either regional variation (Genesis or Mega Drive), along with a stand on which to rest it. And while it faithfully recreates the various buttons and such on the front of the gamepad, the best bit is hiding round the back: a microscale diorama of Sonic the Hedgehog’s Green Hill Zone.
You can add 40769 SEGA Genesis Controller to your collection by spending at least £115 / $130 / €130 at LEGO.com from September 8 to 18, or while stocks last. That means 76300 Arkham Asylum, which debuts September 9, will qualify – but pre-orders don’t count, so you’ll need to wait until tomorrow to pull the trigger.
