The first-ever minifigure-scale LEGO Star Trek set is the perfect gift-with-purchase to accompany 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
Star Trek fans will finally be able to add not one but two highly-anticipated LEGO Icons sets to their collections come Black Friday 2025. The first of those is 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, with LEGO Insiders members also able to beam up an exclusive GWP between November 28 and December 1 from LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores in the shape of 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod.

The 261-piece primarily white craft measures over 6cm high, 12cm long and 8cm wide, and represents an incredibly-accurate interpretation of the Federation vessel created by Senior Consulting Illustrator and designer Andrew Probert that was introduced in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 2 episode ‘Time Squared’.

The LEGO Star Trek take on the small ship is specifically based on the Onizuka, posthumously named after Ellison Onizuka, one of the astronauts who died aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986. That name is also referenced on two of 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod’s 11 stickers, with no printed pieces included in the GWP, as is an LCARS display with an odd Stardate and a schematic of a D’Deridex-class Romulan Warbird.
What the first and only minifigure-scale LEGO Star Trek set (so far) does have though is plenty of play potential, thanks to an opening cockpit, two wing doors and a rear cargo hatch. That’s enough room to place the included Ensign Ro Laren minifigure inside and at least one other member of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D’s crew.
Speaking of the former, Ro Laren features a printed front and back torso that matches the red and black uniforms sported by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and Commander William Riker in the much larger LEGO Icons set. The abrasive ensign also gains a spot-on double-sided head print with traditional Bajoran earring and forehead, but no accessories such as a phaser or tricorder.
Despite those minor omissions, 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod is definitely a must-have build for any fans of the long-running sci-fi franchise. Scale issues with 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D aside, the craft is a compact and very satisfying set, with its desirability boosted further by the inclusion of an exclusive minifigure.
The only real downside of 40768 Type-15 Shuttlepod is the LEGO Star Trek GWP’s short period of availability. LEGO Insiders who want to get their hands on the model will be able to do so from November 28 to December 1, with the set free with all purchases of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D (while stocks last).
