LEGO Ideas 21363 The Goonies is packed with exclusive minifigures, though some match their iconic movie characters more closely than others.

There are 12 minifigures in 21363 The Goonies, launching later this week, paying tribute to the cast and characters from the titular film, and we're taking a closer look at just how accurate these new minifigures, including the duo in 40773 The Goonies: The Walshes' Attic.

The Goonies

The eight Goonies member minifigures in 21363 The Goonies include a varied assortment of outfits and figure sizes. The LEGO design team have done a good job at recreating the outfits of each character through torso printing and the odd bit of leg printing where necessary. The clothing matches that which is seen on each character most in the movie, though some of the faces leave something to be desired.

While a few of the minifigure heads offer new prints, most are existing assets that match each character closely enough. One-Eyed Willy's skeletal features stand out, as a result of this, even going so far as to capture his open-jawed expression with the larger gaps in his teeth

The Fratellis

The four Fratelli minifigures in 21363 The Goonies are similarly accurate to those of the Goonies, but featuring some all-new elements. Sloth's minifigure has one of these new pieces for his hat and bandana combo, which sets him apart from the original LEGO Dimensions minifigure. The face print has been updated since that minifigure, but thankfully, the Superman logo on his shirt remains, likely thanks to the existing Warner Bros. and DC partnership.

Mama Fratelli has the other new element, also using dual-moulded arms and a new torso design with her pearls for the most accurate minifigure possible. Jake and Francis are similarly accurate, using new face prints and torso designs to match their movie outfits.

The Walshes

There are two The Goonies minifigures in 40773 The Goonies: The Walshes' Attic for Irving and Irene Walsh, and these minifigures aren't quite as accurate as those of 21363 The Goonies. They use mostly existing minifigure elements, such as Arthur Weasley's torso for Irving. These match the movie enough for a gift-with-purchase, and compared to the screen time of The Goonies' other characters.

LEGO Ideas 21363 The Goonies is launching on November 1 for LEGO Insiders or November 4 widely, and will cost £269.99 / $329.99 / €299.99. The 40773 The Goonies: The Walshes’ Attic gift-with-purchase will be offered exclusively with the set throughout the early access until November 7, or while stocks last.
