Hundreds of new LEGO 2023 parts added to Pick a Brick – Rivendell, Ideas, Classic Space

The LEGO Group has just added hundreds of new-for-2023 pieces to its Pick a Brick selection online, including elements from 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell.

If you’re looking for a cheaper way to add new and rare parts to your collection than buying full sets (or turning to BrickLink), the Pick a Brick section of LEGO.com should always be your first port of call. New pieces are generally added to the selection around three to six months after debuting in sets, and while not every element makes it there – or sells out pretty quickly – there’s usually something worth buying.

At the moment, for example, you can score a good number of the new minifigure elements from 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, including the Hobbits’ dual-moulded legs, capes and hairpieces, the Elven statue torso and long grey hair, and Gandalf’s hat. The bright green fern piece – which also debuted in the Middle-earth model – is also listed on Pick a Brick, but is currently out of stock.

To find the newest elements added to Pick a Brick, head to LEGO.com, click ‘Shop’ in the top menu bar and choose ‘Pick a Brick’. Then, under ‘Sort & Filter’, select ‘Sort by: Newest’. You can also choose to display items that are out of stock, so you know what to look out for in future – such as the purple air tanks from this year’s 80111 Lunar New Year Parade, which are necessary for creating an authentic purple LEGO Classic Space astronaut, but are currently unavailable.

They'll doubtless be back at some stage though – and their presence suggests the purple helmet, which is also included in the same Chinese New Year set and currently commands a minimum price of £3.66 on BrickLink, may also be making an appearance at Pick a Brick in the near future.

Other parts of interest include the printed butterfly from 21338 A-Frame Cabin, hairpieces from 21339 BTS Dynamite and Rocket Racer torso from the LEGO City Stuntz range. More than 200 different elements from the first half of 2023 have just joined Pick a Brick, so it’s worth perusing the entire list by heading to LEGO.com. You can also search by product number if you’re just looking for elements from a specific set.

Pick a Brick currently distinguishes between what it calls Standard and Bestseller parts, and will create two different baskets depending on which type of elements you’re ordering. Both baskets require a minimum spend of £10 to waive service fees, while you’ll still need to meet minimum free delivery thresholds (£50 in the UK) as part of your overall order.

Remember that we’re currently in the middle of LEGO VIP Days, with dozens of sets on sale and multiple gifts-with-purchase up for grabs, so now is a very good time to place an order and pop in some extra elements from Pick a Brick. Those individual pieces will also count towards overall thresholds for remaining gifts-with-purchase, such as 40580 Blacktron Cruiser and 40581 BIONICLE Tahu and Takua, which are both free with a £200 spend in the UK.

Standard and Bestseller pieces will both ship separately from the rest of your order, but are usually the cheapest way to get your hands on specific elements. There are only seven BrickLink sellers with stock of RM’s blue hairpiece from 21339 BTS Dynamite, for example, with prices starting at £2.69 (plus shipping from the USA). That very same element is just 26p through Pick a Brick.

Head over to LEGO.com to check out the full range of pieces at Pick a Brick.
