How to display LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars on the wall

Looking for a way to display your collection of LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars? Here's one method that's perfect for keeping track of the results of every grand prix.

Although LEGO Speed Champions as a theme is one of the easier ones to display, when you have all 10 of the Formula 1 collection, they quickly take up a lot of room. Plus, sticking them on a shelf doesn't really do justice to the time and effort put into the finer details of the cars, particularly as they're so low to the ground.

The LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 sets should really be viewed from above, in a birds-eye view, to see all the details to the fullest. That's why I elected to display my copies of 2024's LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 cars hung on the wall – here's how I did it, in time for the 2026 season.

Choose your mount

The first step is to choose your display mount. I went for these from Amazon: budget-friendly, unobtrusive, and easy to install. I wanted to have the effect of the cars racing along the wall, so a horizontal mount would have been best but I made do with vertical, as they are virtually invisible when in place.

They come with all the screws you need and in a pack of 12, so you have two spares for if you mess one up (hard to do) – or for any possible additional models we may or may not get down the line.

Plan your positions

The biggest debate in displaying my collection of 10 centred around their position on the wall. To have that 'racing' effect, the cars arranged horizontally would have been best. With the mounts largely being vertical, however, I ran them up the wall, in a similar layout to how they would look on the starting grid.

For symmetry and ease of aligning all the cars, I screwed in every mount in line with the rear tyres of the car in front. That kept each one equally spaced and level, using a digital water-level app for accuracy (or a physical one if you're old-school).

I chose a hallway without much direct sunlight to keep the prints and stickers intact for as long as possible, which is certainly worth considering whenever you're placing LEGO sets for extended periods of time. In terms of order, the grid is laid out in the order of the 2024 Constructors results – but will be updated throughout the year as the competition gets underway.

Get your grid in place

And it's lights up and away we go! The cars are in place. I've had them up for a few days now and these low-budget mounts are holding perfectly in place. It's the ideal angle to enjoy the unique silhouettes and creative building techniques of the full LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 collection. Being flush with the wall, it's an unobtrusive way to display all 10 without taking up valuable shelf space and they don't protrude into the space like some horizontal mounts do.

All in all, it's a pretty neat system, if I do say so myself. Let us know what layout you would try for your collection of all the Formula 1 Speed Champions sets in the comments down below.
