The LEGO Ideas team has revealed the winner of its latest challenge, confirming a future gift-with-purchase in the process.
The Outdoor Adventures challenge saw 15 different builds based on childhood memories of the great outdoors competing to become a future LEGO gift-with-purchase. The LEGO Ideas team has now confirmed that stubot’s Highland Hike has taken top prize in the fan vote and will one day be given away through official channels with qualifying orders.
The 216-piece model depicts a highland cow atop a grassy 12x12 vignette as a hiker strolls by. The cow sits on a rotating base that can spin 360 degrees for highland hijinks, has an articulated head and tail and includes three sets of eyes for different expressions. That’s as pitched, anyway – the LEGO Ideas team will now refine the concept for the official model.
“My most treasured family holidays were when the four of us explored the Scottish Highlands,” fan designer stubot wrote on the entry page. “This model celebrates walking through the natural beauty of heather-strewn hills, and meeting all the wondrous wildlife. Highland cows are without question the Cromar family’s favourite.”
Highland Hike joins a growing list of LEGO Ideas GWPs waiting in the wings, including HallowedBrick02’s Sea Serpent, Doomslizer’s Build, Paint and Play!, and ArchGian7’s Urban Face Sketcher (pictured above L-R). This latest gift-with-purchase will likely be available with qualifying orders sometime in 2027 based on the current trajectory of Ideas sets.
