LEGO Star Wars 75361 Spider Tank offered us a new Bo-Katan Kryze minifigure – and we love it.
Not only did 75361 Spider Tank offer us our very first Darksaber, we also got a new version of the star of The Mandalorian Chapter 18: Bo-Katan Kryze. The former Mandalorian princess has a new hairstyle in the third season of the show, now updated with a new hair piece, as well as outstanding detail throughout the rest of the minifigure.
Now that we've got a closer look at Bo-Katan's minifigure (thanks to Hoth Bricks), particularly the new hair piece element that comes as well as her detailed helmet, we've got some thoughts and feelings about her updated design.
4) New hair piece
The most notable change is the hair piece that comes with the minifigure, giving you the option of her taking her beskar helmet off – far less of a big deal than it would be for Din Djarin and something she frequently does. The new hair better reflects the character's new hairstyle, complete with the headband that pushes it off her face. The side parting is also impressively accurate to how she wears it in the live-action show – although how it stays that way underneath a metal helmet, we'll never know.
3) Continuing the Mandalorian trend of arm printing
Bo-Katan's armour is instantly recognisable, with her signet emblazoned on each shoulder. The blue tones throughout the armour are also known to signify reliability within Mandalorian culture, while grey symbolises mourning a lost love. As someone who has lost and sacrificed a lot for what she believed was the good of her people, both of these characteristics pair well with Bo-Katan, so it's pleasing to see that these colours have been accurately captured in the arm and leg printing in this minifigure.
2) A detailed helmet to match Din Djarin's
Similarly, it's rare to see two such detailed helmets in the same LEGO Star Wars set. The intricate swirls and lines of Bo-Katan's helmet are once again faithfully recreated, along with her visor that almost looks like three narrow petals, a stark contrast to Din Djarin's straight lines. It's minor details like this that really make the two minifigures stand apart from one another, just as the two characters do on screen.
1) Authentic likeness
Overall, this combines for an impressively accurate minifigure that looks a lot like the older, arguably more bitter version of Bo-Katan that we meet in The Mandalorian's third season. Even the added lines on the face piece and the slant to the eyebrows give an excellent sense of her character and face shape, despite the head obviously being the same shape as any other minifigure.
It would have been easy for the LEGO Group to include a similar minifigure like the one recently included in the LEGO Star Wars magazine (another impressive addition), but the changes, while minor, to the design have truly paid off with this minifigure in 75361 Spider Tank.
