Formula 1 season launch event could be the perfect LEGO showcase

Current and upcoming LEGO Formula 1 sets for 2025 deserve to be included as part of an upcoming season launch event next week.

The 2025 F1 season is due to officially kick off on March 16 with the Louise Vuitton Australian Grand Prix. Ahead of that date comes a special launch event taking place at The O2 in London on February 18, where for the first time ever, all 10 teams, drivers and cars with new liveries will be in attendance to mark the sport’s 75th anniversary.

Up to 15,000 fans will be packed into the venue and those who can’t be there in person can stream the event for free on F1’s social media channels, including YouTube. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation from the LEGO Group so far regarding a potential appearance at the launch, the event would also seem to be the ideal showcase for its 2025 F1 sets, alongside other 'top entertainment'.

It was confirmed back in November 2024 that a host of LEGO F1 content and experiences at interactive fan zones would appear at races during Grand Prix weekends. With the Formula 1 season still a month away and new LEGO F1 products launching on March 1, next week’s event  at The O2 could be ideal timing to shine a spotlight on this year's collection of sets and ‘Build the Thrill’ activities.

Speeding online and into stores next month will be 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell, 42206 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 F1 Car, 60474 F1 Grid with VCARB & Sauber Race Cars and 10 Speed Champions sets, with 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars to follow on May 1.

With so many excited Formula 1 fans crammed into a single location, the opportunity to give hands-on time with the existing and upcoming line-up of LEGO F1 sets would seem to be too good an opportunity to miss. If that indeed proves to be the case, we'll be sure update you once the Formula 1 season launch event kicks off at The O2 on February 18.
