First look at rumoured 40649 Scaled-Up LEGO Minifigure

An image on the official LEGO Building Instructions page has given us our first look at another large-scale minifigure set.

Rumours that LEGO House-exclusive 40504 A Minifigure Tribute might not be the only upscaled minifigure in 2023 have seemingly been confirmed, with the appearance of 40649 Scaled-Up LEGO Minifigure appearing on the official Building Instructions Page on LEGO.com. Not much more information has been confirmed, other than that the set is on its way in 2023.

However, the original rumour suggested that 40649 would be made up of 654 pieces and have a release window of June 2023. This would align with the current timing, as sets that appear on the Building Instructions pages are usually not far off an official reveal and release.

The set is a larger-scale version of the classic LEGO minifigure, complete with a fixed smile and outfit in the basic blue and red. Judging by its piece count, it could be as much as half the size of 40504 A Minifigure Tribute. However, there's also a lot less detail included in this build without the map, accessories, detailed clothing, or display stand that 40504 came with.

Whether 40649 Scaled-Up LEGO Minifigure will follow in 40504 A Minifigure Tribute's shoes (or peg leg) and be another exclusive to the LEGO House remains to be seen. For now, we'll have to wait for the official reveal to be sure.
