First look at LEGO Restaurants of the World: Mexico GWP

First look at LEGO Restaurants of the World: Mexico GWP

The building instructions portal has given us a first look at the upcoming LEGO 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico gift-with-purchase.

The next instalment in this series of mini restaurants – following 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan earlier this year – travels south of the border to Mexico with a 326-piece taqueria. A LEGO.com listing for the model went live yesterday, and the first official image of the gift-with-purchase has now surfaced through the building instructions portal.

At first glance it looks like another home run for this series too, which builds on previous Houses of the World and Shops of the World GWP collections, but pivots from microscale to minifigure-scale with excellent results. 40907 Restaurants of the World: Mexico features a colourful street food stall with various accoutrements, among which are 1x2 semi-circle tiles to represent taco shells.

The LEGO Group has yet to confirm when this GWP will be available or how much you’ll need to spend to get your hands on it, but 40906 Restaurants of the World: Japan was free with all orders above £160 / $180 / €180 from February 27 to March 8, so it’s probably safe to expect a similar qualifying threshold here. Previously reliable source itsjustajoe claims it will be available from April 10 – we’ll find out for sure later this week…
