Don't be too quick to critique LEGO Icons Ferrari's tyres

The saga of LEGO Icons Formula 1 tyres continues, with 11375 Ferrari F2004 & Michael Schumacher returning to same-sized front and back wheels.

LEGO Icons 11375 Ferrari F2004 & Michael Schumacher is the third in a line of LEGO Icons Formula 1 cars, following on from 10330 McLaren MP4/4 & Ayrton Senna and 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell. The former received some criticism upon release for featuring four tyres of the same size, when the real car has wider tyres at the back than the front.

It's relatively easy to fix, as shown here, but is remedied officially in 10353 Williams Racing FW14B & Nigel Mansell. That LEGO Icons set includes wheels of different sizes, in keeping with the real-life car.

Skipping forward to 2026's 11375 Ferrari F2004 & Michael Schumacher and we're back to front and rear tyres at the same width, also featuring visible treads that differ from the previous slick tyres of its predecessors. However, in this case, the LEGO Group is sticking as close to reality as feasible.

Although the Ferrari F2004's rear tyres were wider than the front, the difference is a matter of 25mm, rather than the dramatic 50% difference in tyre width that you can see in the Williams above. Comparing the LEGO Icons set to the actual car in the images below, you can see that the difference is so small as to be virtually invisible from afar – and certainly impossible to reflect in a brick-built car at this scale.

LEGO Icons 11375 Ferrari F2004 & Michael Schumacher is available to pre-order now on LEGO.com for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99, ahead of its launch on March 1.
