Cristiano Ronaldo has starred in another viral piece of LEGO Group advertising, this time taking a playful jab at fellow football superstar Kylian Mbappé.
Both Ronaldo and Mbappé recently received LEGO Editions sets ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo received 43016 Cristiano Ronaldo – Football Legend and 43012 Cristiano Ronaldo – Football Highlights, while Mbappé got 43013 Football Highlights – Kylian Mbappé.
The latest promotional clip opens inside what appears to be Mbappé’s dressing room, complete with his shirt hanging in the background and 43013 Football Highlights – Kylian Mbappé sitting on a nearby table. Ronaldo then walks over, swaps Mbappé’s minifigure for his own, and pulls a cheeky face at the camera.
When we reviewed the minifigures ahead of release, we noted that Ronaldo’s figure felt noticeably stronger than Mbappé’s, so perhaps the swap was not entirely unfair.
The LEGO Group has shared several promotional clips ahead of this summer’s World Cup in the U.S.A., Canada, and Mexico. Other videos have featured Lionel Messi and Vinícius Júnior reacting to their LEGO sets, alongside a separate clip showing all four football stars gathered around 43020 FIFA World Cup Official Trophy.
This latest video exploded online, racking up more than 107 million Instagram views and over six million likes in less than 24 hours.
Mbappé, who now plays for Real Madrid, famously grew up idolising Ronaldo, who won four UEFA Champions League titles during his nine-year spell at the club.
Now, the pair appear locked in a light-hearted LEGO rivalry that could even carry onto the pitch if Portugal and France meet in the World Cup final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
