A closer look at LEGO Super Mario 71413 Character Packs

LEGO Super Mario 71413 Character Packs – Series 6 is launching in 2023, bringing six familiar and new figures that we're taking a closer look at.

Due to release on January 1, 2023, for £4.99 / $5.99 / €5.99 with eight new and returning characters in blind boxes. However, this series also covers characters that have appeared in the theme before in a larger form, offering plenty of opportunities for comparison to both their previous LEGO depictions and in-game appearances.

Here's a closer look at all eight figures in 71413 Character Packs – Series 6 with other LEGO sets they've appeared in and a look at their non-LEGO version.

8 – Spike

After appearing in a much bigger form in 71409 Big Spike’s Cloudtop Challenge, Spike is back in the sixth series at a smaller size, this time tossing a spiked ball instead of a wider spiked tube.

7 – Sumo Bro

Though they're not exactly the same enemy from the Super Mario franchise, the Sumo Bro in 71413 Character Packs – Series 6 is essentially a smaller version of the Boss Sumo Bro in 71388 Boss Sumo Bro Topple Tower Expansion Set.

6 – Ice Bro

The Ice Bro is one of two new characters in the new LEGO Super Mario series and isn't too different from the Boomerang Bro and Hammer Bro figures released over the past year, equipped instead with ice to shoot out.

5 – Birdo

Birdo is an uncommon Super Mario character making her LEGO debut in 2023 and has featured in various games across the franchise, including Mario Golf, Super Mario Maker, Mario Kart and more.

4 – Bramball

Bramball is only otherwise included in 71381 Chain Chomp Jungle Encounter so their appearance in 71413 Character Packs – Series 6 is a good opportunity for those who are new to the theme.

3 – Cat Goomba

Cat Goombas are one of the newer LEGO Super Mario enemy figures, last seen in 71407 Cat Peach Suit and Frozen Tower. As a rarity for the LEGO Super Mario character packs, two of them are featured in one blind box, including one with a new expression.

2 – Blooper and baby Bloopers

A blooper has only otherwise been featured in LEGO Super Mario's first series of character packs and another is included in the 2023 range. However, it's now joined by three baby Bloopers too, potentially making it a Blooper Nanny.

1 – Green Toad

One of the most interesting Toad figures yet is also included in 71413 Character Packs – Series 6, making for the fifth colour of Toad figure as a green version has joined the growing line-up.
