A LEGO Friends summer 2025 set will mark the debut of a brand new colour in the LEGO palette – but it’s not one we’re likely to see widely used just yet…

The set’s designer Wes Talbott has now confirmed on Instagram that we are indeed looking at a brand new hue in the LEGO palette, which is apparently called ‘Ochre Yellow’ internally at the LEGO Group. Colour names vary wildly between the company, the fan community and even BrickLink, so this one might also end up being better known as something else down the line.
It could take a while for it to earn any kind of alternative nomenclature, though, because Wes says Ochre Yellow will ‘likely mostly show up on animals and some new wigs’. So we probably won’t be seeing it used as the foundation for next year’s modular building – but never say never. Light nougat was once reserved almost exclusively for licensed minifigures, but found its way into the general colour palette for 10297 Boutique Hotel.
