The LEGO Group's experience with axolotls is largely limited to LEGO Minecraft, but one LEGO Ideas user is hoping to bring the critically endangered animals to life in the fan-inspired theme through a 404-piece axolotl diorama. DingoBrick's first project to reach 10,000 supporters pays tribute to the animals native to Lake Xochimilco and Lake Chalco by recreating their natural habitat.
A LEGO set based on these creatures specifically would be a great way of educating fans of all ages about these animals and their amazing abilities, including shifting their hue shades lighter or darker for camouflage and limb regeneration.
