2025's LEGO GWP frustrations carry through into 2026

LEGO fans have been left frustrated once more as LEGO Stranger Things 40891 WSQK Radio Station sells out rapidly.

After beginning to sell out on its very first day yesterday, today (January 2) sees 40891 WSQK Radio Station sell out in the US as well. That's most major regions now lacking in stock for the Stranger Things GWP, after the UK and Europe sold out on day one.

Indeed, LEGO Stranger Things has proved popular across the board as the Netflix show's finale aired on New Year's Day, with 11370 Stranger Things: The Creel House sold out temporarily in the US and on back order for 60 days in the UK and Europe. 40801 Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will Figures and 40879 Eleven, Max, Demogorgon and Holly Figures are also on back order in all three regions, with varying delays to shipping depending on location.

Clearly, the appetite for Stranger Things LEGO sets has contributed to the short availability for 40891 WSQK Radio Station, but it's far from a new problem for exclusive GWPs.

40693 The Lord of the Rings: Fell Beast sold out fast back in June 2024, before quickly fetching eye-watering prices on the secondhand market, while 2025 saw 5009609 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Compass also sell out rapidly, as an exclusive gift that accompanied 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow's Pirate Ship.

The quickfire sell-out GWPs have left some fans frustrated, especially as 40891 WSQK Radio Station is already available on secondhand markets like eBay for as much as £134.99. That's more than half the price of 11370 Stranger Things: The Creel House itself.

It's particularly frustrating for non-Insiders, with the GWP selling out long before the general release of 11370 Stranger Things: The Creel House on January 4.

"Doesn’t seem fair not to have any for general release," wrote redditor Fancy_Ant6081. "I’m really disappointed, I checked the website constantly this past week and the website said releasing on the 4th."

"Why does LEGO not make enough exclusive GWP or do more runs?" commented a Brick Fanatics reader on Facebook. "On the secondary market, people are selling them for £50 to £100 (or over sometimes). People are spending money to buy these GWPs, instead of spending on another LEGO. How is that profitable to LEGO? Not to mention upset and unsatisfied customers."

If you missed out, there's always the chance that your local LEGO store will still have stock of 40891 WSQK Radio Station even if online stores don't. There are still three GWPs available at LEGO.com, however, with 40913 Vintage Parade Car available on all orders over £180 / $200 / €200 excluding 11370 Stranger Things: The Creel House, 40779 Year of the Horse available on orders over £65 / $70 / €70, and 30712 Celebration Cake on DUPLO orders over £35 / $40 / €40.
