Three LEGO 2025 sets – including the newly-revealed 10350 Tudor Corner – will feature a sunflower lanyard, building awareness for non-visible disabilities.

Today (December 3) is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and the LEGO Group is marking the occasion by revealing that three 2025 products will feature the official sunflower lanyard, a globally-recognised symbol designed for individuals to discreetly share non-visible conditions. The company is partnering with British organisation Hidden Disabilities Sunflower to raise awareness through three different initiatives.

The first is that LEGO Icons 10350 Tudor Corner, LEGO Friends 42656 Heartlake City Airport and LEGO DUPLO 10443 First Time at the Airport will all feature the sunflower lanyard in some shape or form. In the newest modular building, for example, you’ll find it printed on a 2x2 tile in the attic apartment, while in the Friends set it’s printed directly on to one of the mini-dolls’ torsos.

Second, all 55 LEGO Minifigure Factories – found in LEGO Stores, LEGO Certified Stores, LEGOLAND Discovery Centres, LEGOLAND Windsor and at LEGO.com (in the US) – will also allow fans to customise minifigures using the sunflower symbol, offering another way for kids and adults to represent themselves or people they know in LEGO form.

Finally, LEGO employees in the UK and Denmark with ‘non-visible disabilities, conditions and sensory needs’ can also acquire a LEGO-branded sunflower lanyard free of charge. Further training will be given to managers to help them better support non-visible disabilities, while the company is also offering training courses to any employees hoping to learn more about the initiative.

“Across the globe, one in every six people lives with some form of disability and 80% of them have a disability that is non-visible,” said Hidden Disabilities CEO Paul White. “HD Sunflower is excited to partner with the LEGO Group on raising awareness and acceptance across their fan and colleague base and can’t wait to see the impact that this will create.”

The LEGO Group has also reaffirmed its commitment to certifying its stores as ‘Sensory Inclusive’, in partnership with non-profit organisation KultureCity. This is already in place in LEGO Stores across the US and Canada, and by March 2025 will be rolled out across Europe too. The certification includes staff training and sensory bags for customers.

"Workplace representation is critical to embed across your business as it reflects our consumers and communities, fosters belonging, and enables everyone to thrive,” added Lauren von Stackelberg, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer VP at the LEGO Group. “Our partnership with Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a key step in supporting colleagues with non-apparent disabilities, conditions, and needs.

“By embedding diversity and inclusion in everything we do, we make LEGO play and experiences more accessible and positively impact the lives of our colleagues, consumers, and communities."

You’ll be able to check out the first three toys in the world to feature the sunflower lanyard when they arrive on shelves on January 1, 2025. Head here to see all the LEGO sets confirmed for 2025 so far.
