All kinds of oceangoing LEGO ships have been released over the years, but these 10 maritime models are the longest we’ve seen so far.
The LEGO Group will be charting a new course on March 1, 2026 with 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel being based on the world’s first large green methanol-enabled ship. Coming in at over 60cm in length, the LEGO set certainly impresses in terms of size, but where does it rank compared to previous nautical release?
We’ve compiled a top 10 list of the longest oceangoing LEGO ships revealed to date, from classic LEGO Pirates builds right up to one of the biggest LEGO models ever released, so let’s find out how 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel performs out at sea.
10 – 6285 Black Seas Barracuda

Also known as the Dark Shark in the UK, 1989’s 6285 Black Seas Barracuda remains a firm LEGO Pirates fan-favourite to this day. Clocking in at 58cm in length, the ship eventually went on to inspire LEGO Ideas 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay, a 2,545-piece build that arrived in 2020.
9 – 6286 Skull’s Eye Schooner

Another impressive LEGO Pirates model from yesteryear, 6286 Skull’s Eye Schooner measured 58.3cm in length and was comprised of 878 pieces. In addition to striking black and white cloth sails, the vessel also came with a crew of nine minifigures and its very own monkey.
8 – 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel

Officially revealed today, 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel represents the latest collaboration between the two Danish companies. At over 60cm long, the upcoming set just about beats its older LEGO Pirates cousins and features slide-out gangways, a visible methanol engine, an opening bridge and 22 removable cargo containers.
7 – 60266 Ocean Exploration Ship

LEGO City has also received its fair share of large oceangoing vessels, with 60266 Ocean Exploration Ship being one such craft. The now-retired 745-piece build clocked in at over 63cm in length and came with a working crane, shark cage, dinghy, submarine, helicopter and eight minifigures when it launched back in 2020.
6 – 10365 Captain Jack Sparrow’s Pirate Ship

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean briefly returned last year in the shape of the 2,825-piece
5 – 71042 Silent Mary

Speaking of LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean, 71042 Silent Mary also makes this list, with the wrecked vessel coming in at over 68cm in length. The 2,294-pice build was based on the ship’s appearance in Dead Men Tell No Tales and boasted eight minifigures, in addition to a hinged bow section, a collapsable main mast and tattered cloth sails.
4 – 60368 Arctic Exploration Ship

The longest LEGO City set to date at 71cm is 60368 Arctic Exploration Ship, an 815-piece model that dropped in 2023. The floatable build was packed with features, such as a detailed bridge, opening hull, working crane, sea helicopter, mini-sub and Viking shipwreck, as well as a crew of seven minifigures.
3 – 10210 Imperial Flagship

Debuting in 2010, the 1,619-piece 10210 Imperial Flagship was certainly an impressive LEGO Pirates model for its time and one that measured 75cm long. The three-masted sailing ship was the last such vessel to be released by the theme until its relaunch in 2015 and boasted four cannons, a brig, a galley, captain’s chambers and nine minifigures.
2 – 10335 The Endurance

Sailing into view in 2024 was 10335 The Endurance, a LEGO Icons set that measured over 80cm long. With 3,011 pieces, the multi-decked model managed to accurately recreate Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Antarctic vessel, right down to its three towering sails, 10 full sails, red ensign flag, intricate rigging and much more.
1 – 10294 Titanic

At 135cm in length, 10294 Titanic not only tops this list but also remains one of the biggest LEGO sets ever released. The 1:200 scale LEGO Icons model of the historic ship is assembled from a whopping 9,090 pieces and includes a grand staircase, boiler room, various cabins, lifeboats and swimming pool, but no iceberg side build.
40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel will set sail on March 1, 2026, with the LEGO set priced at £139.99 in the UK, $149.99 in the US and €149.99 in Europe.
